Akihiro Yamashita

Ph.D. student. Hailing from northern Japan, Akihiro joined us after completing his M.Sc. from the University of Tokyo where he demonstrated that plant mitochondria also generate MDVs. He is continuing his Ph.D. work with us examining the function of steady-state MDV transport to peroxisomes. The links between mitochondria and peroxisomes will continue to be uncovered under the watchful eye of Aki!
