Post-Doctoral Fellow

Aurèle joined us after a stellar Ph.D in the lab of Jennifer Estall at the IRCM where he worked on the pathogenesis of diabetes, focusing on the role of transcriptional coactivators in liver. A native of France, Aurèle gained a profound knowledge of global metabolism during his training. He is currently working to understand how the peroxisome contribute to metabolic homeostasis at both the cellular and organismal level. Often overlooked, peroxisome dynamics, biogenesis and function have captured Aurèle’s imagination and he wants to unlock new paradigm in our understanding of peroxisomes by combining his previous expertise with the tricks of the McBride lab.

Expertise: Liver, glucose homeostatis, sex differences, peroxisomes, mouse physiology
